Handcrafted Alabama Clay Statement Platter with Wild Muscadine Vine

Rooted in the Alabama landscape, Platter No. 38 celebrates the natural beauty and character of the place where it was created. Formed from Alabama clay that was personally dug, processed, and transformed by the artist, this one-of-a-kind ceramic platter carries the rich color and history of the region in every surface.

A sweeping band of copper glaze moves gracefully across the warm earthen clay, creating a striking contrast between raw earth and luminous finish. The platter is encircled with hand-gathered wild muscadine vines from the artist’s property, adding an organic sculptural element that blurs the line between ceramic art and nature.

Designed as a dramatic statement piece, Platter No. 38 is equally at home displayed on a mantel, console, or dining table. It includes a beautiful wooden easel for immediate display.

This original work was selected for exhibition in the Robin Metz Art Competition, recognizing its artistic merit in a juried exhibition.
